Exciting Updates in Lubbock Business: Indoor Pickleball, Makeup Mirrors, and More!

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former Lea County Commissioner Rebecca Long has made waves in the beauty industry with her invention, the At Last Makeup Mirror. Long shared her journey of frustration and innovation with A-J readers, revealing how her eyesight challenges led her to create a lighted magnification mirror that has since garnered three patents and an endorsement from a “Shark Tank” investor.

But that’s not all the exciting news on the business beat this week. A-J photo editor Annie Rice and reporter had the chance to explore the newly opened Lubbock Indoor Pickleball facility, where co-owner Dana Howland and coach Andy Carter shared their passion for the sport and the unique appeal of their indoor courts. Howland emphasized that regardless of the weather outside, the facility offers a perfect environment for pickleball enthusiasts to play and have fun.

In addition to these highlights, Organica Juice & Smoothie Co. launched its mobile business specializing in refreshing smoothies, juices, and seasonal soups and salads, while Tangram Interiors announced the opening of their Lubbock office. And for foodies in the area, Cyrus Kabob on Frankford Ave. has recently opened its doors, serving up delicious Persian cuisine like the mouthwatering Mixed Family Platter.

As the week comes to a close, A-J readers can look forward to an upcoming article on a local vineyard tour, where a family business produces wine that funds a scholarship. Stay tuned for more exciting business news and features from the A-J team. Thank you for your continued support!
