Exclusive: Divya Khosla Talks About Playing Savi, a Bloody Housewife for the First Time: This is Something Completely New to Me

Anil Kapoor and Divya Khosla unveiled the new glimpse of their upcoming film “Savi-A Bloody Housewife” by Mukesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar, promising a modern twist on the myth of Sati Savitri. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Divya shared insights into the film, highlighting the celebration of homemakers and Anil Kapoor’s unique role in the project.

The announcement of the new production took everyone by surprise, with Divya revealing that they kept the project under wraps until it was ready for release. She mentioned shooting the film in complete secrecy in London and how they only received the title a few days before the announcement.

When asked about the plot of “Savi-A Bloody Housewife,” Divya remained tight-lipped but assured that it would be a unique experience for the audience. The film is based on the Hindu mythological concept of Sati Savitri, but with a contemporary twist to make it relevant to today’s viewers.

Anil Kapoor’s role in the film was described as very special, with Divya expressing her gratitude for having such a legendary actor on board. She also praised the director, Abhinay Deo, for his previous work and expressed confidence in the film’s content attracting audiences to the theaters.

Despite some nervousness about the current trend of audiences preferring OTT platforms, Divya remained optimistic about the film’s success and urged fans to watch it when it releases on May 31. She also mentioned her previous film, “Yaariyan,” which is now streaming on Jio Cinema, but emphasized the importance of supporting films in theaters for a truly immersive experience.
