Kochi-based Firm Launches Private Train Service for Tourist Packages

Kochi: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, a Kochi-based firm has launched a private train service offering tourist packages from Kerala to popular travel destinations across the country. Princy World Travels, in collaboration with Indian Railways’ ‘Bharat Gaurav Yatra’ initiative, is set to offer private train tours to Goa, Mumbai, and Ayodhya.

The government-approved joint venture with the Chennai-based S.R.M.P.R. Group has leased trains from Indian Railways to conduct these services, with operations in Kerala being managed by Princy World Travels. The train, equipped with 14 coaches, can accommodate up to 600 passengers and will have 60 staff members on board, including trained paramedical staff.

Passengers will benefit from free travel insurance, a round-the-clock emergency response team, GPS tracking system, live CCTV, food trolley service, and a la carte dining. The inaugural trip is scheduled to start from Thiruvananthapuram to Goa on June 4, with stops in various cities across Kerala.

Ticket fares for the Thiruvananthapuram to Goa route range from Rs 13,999 for a non-AC sleeper to Rs 16,400 for a two-tier AC compartment. Other packages include trips to Ayodhya, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Mumbai, with upcoming packages to destinations like Shirdi, Mantralayam, and Pandharpur.
