Executor of O.J. Simpson Changes Stance on Goldman Payout

Reading Time: < 1 minute

O.J. Simpson’s attorney, Malcolm LaVergne, has made a surprising announcement regarding the millions owed to the families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. LaVergne, who was named executor of Simpson’s will before his recent passing, stated that he will accept any claim made by Ron Goldman’s parents to retrieve the $33.5 million judgment awarded to them in a 1998 civil trial against Simpson.

Initially, LaVergne had expressed his intention to fight against Fred Goldman receiving any part of Simpson’s estate. However, he has now backtracked on his previous statements and assured that Fred Goldman’s claim will be accepted and handled according to Nevada law.

LaVergne also mentioned his plans to be transparent with the families of Brown Simpson and Goldman, inviting them to a meeting at his office to discuss the estate. He emphasized the importance of getting the estate in order and ensuring that the families receive what they are owed.

Fred Goldman has previously stated that he has not received any money from Simpson related to the judgment and that the amount owed continues to increase each year. The assets in Simpson’s estate, including real estate holdings in Florida, will now undergo a probate process in court.

As Simpson’s children reach a consensus on decisions regarding the estate, LaVergne will sign off based on what they believe their father would have wanted. The decision to cremate Simpson’s remains was also made collectively by his children, with plans for a memorial celebration of his life in the near future.
