Reading Time: < 1 minute

Veteran Australian spinner Nathan Lyon has made a bold prediction for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, ignoring India and instead picking Australia and Pakistan as the finalists. Lyon, known for his sharp spin bowling, expressed his bias towards Australia but also highlighted Pakistan’s strong spin bowling attack and explosive batting lineup, particularly mentioning star player Babar Azam.

In a video shared by Prime Video Sports Australia, Lyon confidently stated, “For the T20 finals team, Australia obviously because I’m quite biased towards them. I think it will be I’m going to go with Pakistan. In those conditions, quality spin bowlers, but also electric batters like Babar Azam.”

The experienced cricketer also made some other interesting predictions for the tournament, suggesting that a team may set the highest total in T20I history and backing Australia’s T20I skipper Mitchell Marsh to shine in the competition.

Lyon’s prediction adds to the excitement surrounding the T20 World Cup 2024, with experts like Ambati Rayudu, Brian Lara, and Sunil Gavaskar also weighing in on their semi-final picks. It will be interesting to see if Lyon’s forecast comes true and if Australia and Pakistan indeed face off in the final showdown of the highly anticipated tournament.
