The future of employability in the UAE could soon be determined by how well individuals can use Artificial Intelligence (AI), according to experts in the field. Muhammad Khalid, the Founder and CEO of AIREV, emphasized the long-term presence of AI and its potential impact on global employment. He stated that nearly 40% of jobs worldwide are exposed to AI, with advanced economies facing a higher percentage of 60%. The productivity gains and optimization facilitated by AI have the potential to lead to increased growth and incomes for workers.

These insights were shared following the launch of the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, a strategic plan aimed at leveraging technology’s potential. The plan includes initiatives such as appointing a Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer in every government entity in Dubai, establishing AI and Web3 incubators, and introducing an AI Week in educational institutions.

Vasudha Khandeparkar, the Analytics and AI Director at Grant Thornton, highlighted the necessity for organizations and individuals to adapt to technological advancements. She emphasized the importance of integrating technology effectively to distinguish firms and enhance productivity and economic growth. As job roles evolve, technology will serve as an enabler to drive progress and innovation.

The impact of AI is expected to be widespread across various industries, with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) projecting that nearly 40% of jobs will be affected by AI. While this transformation poses challenges, it also presents new opportunities within the AI sector. Abdallah Abu Sheikh, the Founder and CEO of Astra Tech and Botim, noted the emergence of roles such as developers and data scientists in the AI field. Additionally, advancements in technology, such as AI-driven chatbots and autonomous vehicles, are reshaping job functions and creating new employment prospects.

Abdallah emphasized the importance of embracing a mindset shift to leverage AI as a tool for personal and professional growth. He stressed that AI should be viewed as a supportive mechanism rather than a threat to job security. By recognizing the potential of AI to enhance human capabilities, individuals can prepare for the evolving job market and harness the benefits of technological innovation.

Moreover, experts highlighted the impact of AI on education, suggesting that it could revolutionize traditional teaching methods. Mohammed emphasized the importance of asking the right questions rather than providing correct answers, signaling a shift in educational paradigms towards critical thinking and problem-solving. Vasudha emphasized the potential for AI to personalize learning experiences and cater to individual learning styles, offering students a tailored educational pathway.

As the UAE embraces AI and prepares for a future driven by technology, individuals and organizations are urged to adapt, innovate, and seize the opportunities presented by this transformative era.
