A delegation from the Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce has arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal, with the aim of exploring business opportunities in the country. Led by Anat Bernstein-Reich, President of Israel-Asia and Chairperson of Israel-India Chamber of Commerce, the delegation met with the President of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal (FWEAN), Shova Gyawali.
During the meeting, the Israeli delegation expressed their interest in collaborating with women entrepreneurs in Nepal, particularly in the fields of agriculture and technology. President Gyawali quoted President Bernstein-Reich as saying, “When women meet, we speak the same language. We understand each other because, no matter where we are from, we face similar challenges.”
President Bernstein-Reich announced plans to initiate a webinar on agriculture and bring Israeli technologies to Nepal. The delegation, consisting of 18 women entrepreneurs, praised the participation of Nepali women in politics and industry during their two-day visit.
In a meeting with Nepali women entrepreneurs, President Bernstein-Rich commended Nepal’s 33 percent women’s participation in politics as an example for the world. She also highlighted the need to increase women’s participation in politics in Israel.
Both sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in technical assistance, training programs, investment, and exchange programs. The Israeli delegation emphasized the importance of empowering Nepali women entrepreneurs with the latest skills and knowledge, particularly in modern agricultural systems and innovative tourism strategies.
Chairperson Gyawali expressed FWEAN’s readiness to collaborate with Israel and learn from their expertise in agriculture and tourism. She highlighted the potential for mutual learning and cultural exchange between the two countries, emphasizing the benefits of collaboration for sustainable growth.
