Extreme Heat Threatens MAGA Faithful as Trump Rallies in the Southwest

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former President Donald J. Trump’s campaign team is facing a unique challenge this week as they navigate extreme heat waves in the Southwest during his campaign events. With temperatures soaring above 110 degrees in Phoenix, some of Trump’s supporters waiting in line for hours at a megachurch event suffered from heat exhaustion, with 11 people needing hospital treatment.

As Trump gears up for an outdoor rally in Las Vegas on Sunday, where temperatures are expected to reach around 105 degrees, his campaign is taking precautions to ensure the safety and comfort of attendees. The western United States has been experiencing record-breaking heat, with Phoenix hitting 113 degrees and Las Vegas reaching 111 degrees, both setting daily records.

Despite the scorching temperatures, Trump’s campaign is prepared to provide relief to supporters at the Las Vegas rally. Thousands of bottles of water will be available, along with tents for shade and at least one air-conditioned tent. Misting fans will help cool off attendees, and small umbrellas will be allowed for shade.

While Trump has downplayed the threat of climate change in the past, his campaign is taking the necessary steps to address the extreme weather conditions at his events. With the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicting above-normal temperatures for the next three months, Trump may face similar challenges throughout the summer. Despite his skepticism of climate change, Trump’s campaign is prioritizing the safety and well-being of his supporters as they navigate the sweltering heat during his campaign events.
