The latest episode of “American Idol” Season 22 brought intense competition and emotional moments as the Top 10 artists gave it their all in front of judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie, as well as host Ryan Seacrest. The episode, which aired on Sunday, April 28 on ABC, saw nearly 21 million votes cast by viewers across the nation.

Guest mentor Shania Twain assisted the contestants in selecting songs from the years of their birth, adding a personal touch to their performances. However, not all contestants made it through to the next round. Both Kayko and Mia Matthews were eliminated, with Kayko, a 23-year-old songwriter and producer, capturing the hearts of many with his unique journey on the show.

Kayko’s performances throughout the competition showcased his versatility and talent, with standout renditions of songs like “Teenage Dirtbag” and “Somebody That I Used to Know.” Despite initially joining the show as a piano accompanist for a friend’s audition, Kayko proved himself to be a true contender.

As the Top 8 artists move forward in the competition, fans are eagerly anticipating the next episode, where they will perform in the “Judges’ Song Contest.” With past winners like Maddie Poppe and Laine Hardy, the pressure is on for the remaining contestants to prove they have what it takes to become the next “American Idol” champion.
