Jake Fearnley and Jack Pinnington of TCU Tennis Make History as Dual NCAA Champions and All-Americans

In a historic achievement for TCU Tennis, Jake Fearnley and Jack Pinnington have etched their names in the annals of the sport by becoming both 2024 NCAA Champions and All-Americans. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) formally announced their All-American status, recognizing their outstanding performances in singles.

Fearnley, a four-time All-American, and Pinnington, a first-time honoree, both met the criteria for ITA All-American honors by reaching the round of 16 in the Individual Championships and finishing with top-20 end-of-season singles rankings. Their impressive rankings of sixth and eighth, respectively, also earned them a spot in the ATP Tour Accelerator Programme, allowing them to advance directly to the main draw of ATP Challenger Tour events.

Pinnington, who was named the Most Outstanding Player at the NCAA Championships, set a Big 12 era school record for most singles wins in a season with a 35-8 overall record. He went undefeated in postseason play and played a pivotal role in TCU’s championship victory over Texas. Fearnley, on the other hand, boasted a 19-4 end-of-season singles record and defeated the country’s top-ranked players on his way to success.

Overall, TCU saw five players claim seven end-of-season ITA rankings, with Fearnley and Pedro Vives securing a 14th place in doubles. The team’s success in the NCAA Championships and Individual Championships solidified their status as a powerhouse in collegiate tennis.
