Festival in Prince George’s County Encourages Mental Health and Fitness

The Ready 2B Healthy Youth, Family, Fitness & Fun Festival held in Upper Marlboro, Md., was a resounding success as it aimed to promote mental health, fitness, and wellness for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Hosted by The Arc Prince George’s County, the event featured interactive workshops, therapeutic activities, and healthy snacks to engage and educate attendees.

One of the highlights of the festival was the opportunity for participants to design a personalized mental health plan with strategies tailored to their needs. Additionally, attendees had the chance to create self-care crafts focusing on mindfulness and experience a relaxing sound bath to promote relaxation and well-being.

The festival also included a “stress-free dance party” and gardening tips, adding a fun and interactive element to the event. The CEO of The Arc Prince George’s County, Rob Malone, emphasized that the Ready 2B Healthy Youth, Family, Fitness & Fun Festival was more than just an event—it was a movement towards embracing and nurturing the whole self.
