Renowned filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan passed away on Wednesday in Mumbai, leaving behind a legacy of iconic films in Bollywood and Malayalam cinema. The news of his demise was confirmed by his brother, Sanjeev Sivan, who revealed that Sangeeth was undergoing treatment for a urinary infection at Kokilaben Hospital when he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest.
Sangeeth Sivan, known for directing hit films like ‘Kya Kool Hai Hum’ and ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’, was remembered fondly by his colleagues in the industry. Actor Sunny Deol, who worked with Sangeeth in ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’, expressed his shock and paid his condolences on social media.
Similarly, actor Riteish Deshmukh shared an emotional tribute to the late filmmaker, highlighting Sangeeth’s role in launching his career in comedy films. Tusshar Kapoor also expressed his grief, thanking Sangeeth for introducing him to the genre and calling him a mentor.
Apart from Bollywood, Sangeeth Sivan also made a mark in Malayalam cinema with films like ‘Vyooham’ starring Raghuvaran and ‘Yodha’ starring Mohanlal. His contributions to the film industry were celebrated by fans and colleagues alike, who remembered him as a talented director and a kind-hearted individual.
