Finalists in prestigious national business awards announced from Cork-based entrepreneurs

Two entrepreneurs have been nominated in the ‘International’ category of the prestigious EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ award. These businesspeople will be competing against 23 other shortlisted entrepreneurs from various sectors such as consumer, health tech, pharmaceutical, energy, and engineering.

The finalists, selected from a pool of over 200 nominees, will also vie for the titles in the ‘Emerging’ and ‘Established’ categories of the award. The ultimate winner will be crowned The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2024 at a gala awards ceremony scheduled for November. Additionally, a special ‘Sustainability Award’ will be presented to the finalist making the most significant contribution to the environment through their business.

The shortlisted entrepreneurs, representing different regions, collectively generate an annual revenue exceeding €700 million and employ over 4,000 individuals, as reported by EY Ireland. Roger Wallace, Partner Lead for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ program, expressed his pride in receiving the highest number of nominations in the program’s history this year.

The independent judging panel, chaired by Harry Hughes, CEO of Portwest, selected this year’s finalists from a pool of exceptional candidates. Hughes emphasized the vitality of entrepreneurship in Ireland, stating that the high caliber of nominations reflects the thriving entrepreneurial spirit across the country.
