Fitbit Launches Ace LTE, a Wearable Tracker for Kids

Fitbit, the popular wearable technology company, has announced the launch of Ace LTE, a new wearable tracker designed specifically for kids. Building on the success of its previous model, Ace, Fitbit is targeting the 7+ age group with this latest device, which takes inspiration from the company’s smartwatch, Versa.

The main focus of Ace LTE is gamification, with a variety of 3D games that encourage kids to move more in order to unlock additional play time. Fitbit describes the experience as reminiscent of Wii-style motion control, offering a fun and interactive way for kids to stay active.

The device also features location sharing and messaging capabilities for parents, providing peace of mind while their children are on the move. Additionally, Ace LTE introduces Eejies, customizable virtual pets that “feed” off of movement, adding another layer of engagement for young users.

Fitbit has taken steps to address privacy concerns, working with experts in child psychology, public health, and digital wellbeing to ensure that Ace LTE is safe and beneficial for kids. Location data is shared only with parent/guardian devices, and activity data is stored for a limited time before being automatically deleted.

Ace LTE is available for pre-order at $230, with a subscription service option for $10 a month or $120 for a full year. The device is set to start shipping on June 5, offering a new and exciting way for kids to stay active and engaged.
