Five new players join Virginia Tech women’s tennis squad

Virginia Tech women’s tennis program is gearing up for an exciting season with the addition of five talented players to their roster. The incoming class includes two all-conference transfers and three accomplished high school players, bringing a wealth of experience and skill to the team.

Arina Gamretkaia, hailing from Chisinau, Moldova, joins the Hokies after successful stints at Hillsborough Community College and McNeese State. Her impressive record on Court No. 1 and in doubles play earned her the title of Southland Conference’s Newcomer of the Year, leading McNeese State to their first ITA ranking in program history.

Tara Gorinsek, from Slovenske Konjice, Slovenia, brings a wealth of experience from UT Arlington, where she earned multiple All-WAC selections and accolades. Her success in singles and doubles play showcases her versatility and talent on the court.

Elizabeth Mendoza, a Glen Allen native, comes to Virginia Tech with a decorated high school career, including multiple MVP awards and All-State honors. Her success on the USTA circuit and high school level make her a valuable addition to the team.

Mila Mulready, a five-star recruit from Burlingame, Calif., has a strong track record in both singles and doubles play, earning championships and accolades on the USTA circuit. Her dedication to the sport and impressive achievements make her a standout player for the Hokies.

Linda Ziets-Segura, a top-ranked player in USTA doubles and singles, brings a wealth of experience and success to the team. Her impressive resume and track record of winning titles make her a formidable addition to the Virginia Tech women’s tennis program.

With these five talented players joining the team, Virginia Tech women’s tennis is poised for a successful season ahead. Fans can look forward to exciting matches and strong performances from this dynamic group of athletes.
