Five Scottish Women Tennis Players Honored with Conference Awards

The Macalester College women’s tennis team is celebrating the recognition of five of its players by the MIAC in the season-end awards announcement. Senior Sydney Ellison from Birmingham, Ala., stood out by being named to both the All-MIAC singles and doubles team. Ellison had an impressive 10-6 overall record this season at No. 1 singles, with a 5-4 record in conference play. She also excelled in doubles, going 10-8 overall and 9-8 at first doubles.

Sophomore Elizabeth Trevathan, a local from St. Paul, Minn., was recognized for her outstanding performance in singles, posting a 13-5 record and leading the team in that category. She also had an 11-7 record in doubles, showcasing her versatility on the court.

Senior Meg Ulrich, hailing from Carlisle, PA., was named to the All-MIAC doubles team and received All-MIAC Honorable Mention in singles. Ulrich had a solid 9-9 record in doubles and a 12-6 record in singles, proving to be a valuable asset to the team.

Amanye Reynolds, another senior from St. Paul, Minn., received All-MIAC Honorable Mention in singles and doubles. Reynolds had an 8-10 record in singles and a 10-8 record in doubles, demonstrating her skill in both aspects of the game.

Lastly, sophomore Savannah Haugen from Bemidji, Minn., was recognized with All-MIAC Honorable Mention in doubles and named to the All-Playoff team. Haugen had a 9-8 record in doubles and played a crucial role in securing a spot in the MIAC Playoffs.

Overall, the Macalester College women’s tennis team had a successful season with these five players standing out among their peers in the conference.
