Flathead tennis dominates against Butte, but struggles against Missoula Big Sky

In a thrilling high school tennis match on Friday, Flathead’s Holden Askvig led the Braves to a dominant 6-1 victory over Butte’s Drew Hanson. Askvig secured a straight sets win, showcasing his skill and determination on the court. On the girls’ side, Elle Westover also shone, contributing to a Flathead sweep against Butte with a two-set victory.

Despite the Bulldogs’ efforts, Chase Fulton and William Jewell managed to pick up a win for Butte in the boys’ doubles category against Flathead’s Owen Eisinger and Joel Jones. Similarly, Butte’s Sophia Groesbeck and Hallie Vanderlinder secured a win in the girls’ doubles category.

Flathead’s singles players were in top form, going 8-0 against the Bulldogs and only dropping a single set throughout the match. However, the Braves and Bravettes faced a tough challenge in their second dual of the day against Missoula Big Sky, with the boys falling 7-1 and the girls losing all eight matches.

Overall, it was a day of impressive performances and fierce competition on the tennis courts. The players showcased their skills and determination, making for an exciting and memorable match for all involved.
