Florida man arrested and assaulted for mocking disabled guest at Disney World

A Florida man’s night out at Disney World took a dark turn when he allegedly made fun of a disabled girl and ended up in a scuffle with her family, resulting in his arrest. Brent George, 61, reportedly approached a table at Belle Vue Lounge inside Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and taunted a girl with Down Syndrome. The girl’s mother, Candance Boyette Goldberg, confronted George, leading to a physical altercation.

According to the complaint, George shoved the woman, slapped her daughter-in-law, Maria Ayalde, and punched her son, Wesley Goldberg. A bystander had to intervene and restrain George in a bear hug to stop the fight. George claimed he was struck by a glass cup during the altercation, but no glass was found at the scene.

Police arrested George on four counts of battery and took him to Orange County Jail, where he spent the night before his wife posted his $4,000 bond. Despite the charges, George pleaded not guilty in court.

The family of four involved in the incident provided written statements to the police and expressed their desire to seek prosecution against George. The Ohio native, on the other hand, requested to press charges against the family but declined to provide a statement to the authorities.
