Florida has once again been recognized as the top state for higher education by U.S. News & World Report for the eighth consecutive year. The State University System of Florida announced this achievement on Tuesday, highlighting the state’s success in graduating students on time, offering affordable in-state tuition, and minimizing student debt.
According to a news release, Florida received a $1 billion funding increase this past year, further solidifying its commitment to higher education. Chancellor Ray Rodrigues credited Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislature for prioritizing education and investing record funding in the state’s universities and colleges.
U.S. News & World Report also pointed out some of Florida’s other higher education accomplishments, including being ranked number one for tuition and fees, number two for two-year and four-year college graduation rates, and number 26 for lower debt at graduation.
The state is also recognized as number 25 for educational attainment, which reflects the percentage of the population with a college degree. This statistic showcases how Florida’s citizens have pursued additional education as an investment in their future success.
