Virginia, the No. 1 seed, defeated No. 8 seed Duke with a score of 4-1. Chris Rodesch of Virginia clinched the match in three sets against Duke’s Garrett Johns, securing their spot in the championship match. On the other side, No. 3 seed Florida State pulled off an upset against No. 2 seed Wake Forest with a score of 4-3. The Seminoles took an early lead after winning the doubles point and continued to dominate with key victories from players like Alex Bulte and Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc.
Despite a strong comeback effort from Wake Forest, Florida State ultimately secured the win with Jamie Connel clinching the match in a thrilling three-set battle. This will be Virginia’s fourth consecutive appearance in the championship match, while Florida State will be making their second appearance in program history.
