Florida State and Virginia to Compete in 2024 Men’s Tennis Championship

Florida State and Virginia are set to face off in the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Championship after both teams secured victories in the semifinals at the Cary Tennis Park. The championship match is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, and will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.

Virginia, the No. 1 seed, defeated No. 8 seed Duke with a score of 4-1. Chris Rodesch of Virginia clinched the match in three sets against Duke’s Garrett Johns, securing their spot in the championship match. On the other side, No. 3 seed Florida State pulled off an upset against No. 2 seed Wake Forest with a score of 4-3. The Seminoles took an early lead after winning the doubles point and continued to dominate with key victories from players like Alex Bulte and Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc.

Despite a strong comeback effort from Wake Forest, Florida State ultimately secured the win with Jamie Connel clinching the match in a thrilling three-set battle. This will be Virginia’s fourth consecutive appearance in the championship match, while Florida State will be making their second appearance in program history.
