Florida Tennis’ NCAA Weekend: A Closer Look

The Florida Gators women’s tennis team is gearing up to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament this weekend in Gainesville. As the No. 14 seed, the Gators will face off against Stetson University in the first round on Saturday, May 4 at 3:00 p.m.

The tournament will also feature matchups between Florida International University and the University of Miami earlier in the day. The winner of the FIU/Miami match will take on the winner of the Florida/Stetson match on Sunday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance through Floridagators.com or at the tournament site. An all-session pass is $10, while single-day tickets will be $7 each. Students and UAA staff members can attend for free.

Fans should be aware of potential traffic due to UF’s Spring Commencements taking place during the weekend. The weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a chance of rain, so matches may be moved indoors if necessary.

After the Regional Championships, the Super Regional play will begin on May 10-12 to determine the eight teams that will advance to the NCAA National Championship rounds. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals will be held at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma from May 17-20.
