Flydubai, the Dubai-based carrier, is set to expand its network in Europe with the launch of direct flights to four new destinations – Basel, Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius. This move makes flydubai the first airline from the UAE to operate direct flights to these cities, further solidifying Dubai’s position as a major aviation hub.

The airline announced earlier this year that flights to these new destinations will commence later in the year from Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB). The first flight to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg will take off on 02 August, marking flydubai’s entry into Switzerland. Following that, flights to Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius will start from October, opening up the Baltic region to passengers flying from Dubai.

Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, expressed excitement about the new routes, stating, “We have already seen strong demand ahead of the route launches and we are confident that our new services will offer more people a convenient and reliable travel experience through Dubai’s aviation hub.”

The addition of these European destinations not only expands flydubai’s network to 44 destinations in 21 countries but also provides passengers with more options to explore these culturally rich cities. From the charming mix of modern and historic in Basel to the lively culinary scene in Riga, each destination offers a unique experience for travelers.

Passengers flying with flydubai can expect a comfortable journey with amenities such as lie-flat seats, internationally-inspired menus, and hours of entertainment in Business Class, while Economy Class offers seats designed for optimal space and comfort.

In addition to the new European routes, flydubai has been steadily growing its network, with recent additions including flights to Mombasa in Kenya, Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia, and Al Jouf and The Red Sea in Saudi Arabia. The airline will also resume seasonal summer routes to popular destinations like Batumi, Corfu, Dubrovnik, and Mykonos.

For travelers interested in booking flights to Basel, Riga, Tallinn, or Vilnius, fares start from AED 1,700 for Economy Class Lite and AED 11,950 for Business Class. Flights can be booked through the flydubai website, app, UAE Contact Centre, travel shops, or travel partners.

With the launch of these new routes, flydubai continues to strengthen its presence in the aviation industry and provide passengers with more options to explore diverse destinations around the world.
