Focus on Local News in East Texas; Our Community’s Issues Are Enough

The trial of former President Donald Trump has come to a close with a bang of the gavel, as he has been convicted of 34 unspecified charges. Liberal media outlets and even the Biden/Harris campaign are celebrating the verdict, with the New York DA Alvin Bragg running victory laps.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 11, just three days before the Republican primary. Many view this as justice served, while others argue that the trial was rigged from the start.

The real concern, however, lies in the precedent set by this trial. If a former president can be prosecuted for crimes that don’t exist, where does that leave the American people? The erosion of due process and fair trials could have far-reaching consequences for all citizens.

This situation is likened to the Inquisition and the Salem Witch Trials, where individuals were arrested first and crimes were found later. Without a strong response from the American people, the country could be left with a whimpering, whipped populace.
