Football Association Signs Agreement with UAE Government Cyber Security Council

The UAE Football Association has taken a significant step towards enhancing cybersecurity by signing a memorandum of understanding with the Cyber Security Council of the UAE government. The signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding took place in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, on the sidelines of the eighth edition of the International Exhibition for National Security and Risk Prevention, “ISNR Abu Dhabi 2024”. The event was attended by key officials including Mohammed Abdullah Hazzam Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of the Football Association, and Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Cybersecurity Council of the UAE Government.

Speaking about the importance of the agreement, Mohammed Abdullah Hazzam Al Dhaheri emphasized the UAE’s commitment to setting policies and developing advanced strategies in cybersecurity to ensure the security of information across all institutions in the country. He highlighted the Football Association’s dedication to partnering with state institutions to implement the vision of the wise leadership and adopt the latest technologies for information security.

The memorandum of understanding includes various points of common interest such as the exchange of information on security risks, malware, and expertise in confronting information security threats. It also involves sharing content on frameworks for awareness programs in cybersecurity and organizing training courses and work sessions for representatives from both parties.

The collaboration between the UAE Football Association and the Cyber Security Council of the UAE government underscores the country’s proactive approach towards cybersecurity and information protection.
