The UAE is gearing up for a week of fluctuating weather conditions, with a mix of humid mornings, fair skies, and occasional dusty conditions on the horizon. The National Meteorology Centre has issued a detailed weather forecast for the period from Wednesday, 22 May to Sunday, 26 May 2024, outlining the varying wind patterns, potential fog formation, and fluctuating sea conditions that residents can expect.
Starting off on Wednesday, 22 May 2024, the day will kick off with humidity in the air and a possibility of fog or mist forming over some northern areas. Despite this, the weather will be generally fair, with temperatures on the rise. Residents can expect light to moderate southeasterly winds, which will shift to northwesterly and freshen at times, potentially causing blowing dust. Sea conditions will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Moving on to Thursday, 23 May 2024, the weather will remain fair in general but may become dusty at times. Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds will freshen periodically, leading to blowing dust and sand over some internal areas. The sea will be slight to moderate, with the possibility of rough conditions in the northern part of the Arabian Gulf by afternoon.
As we head into Friday, 24 May 2024, residents can expect fair weather overall with occasional dusty conditions and a slight decrease in temperatures. Light to moderate northwesterly winds will freshen at times, causing blowing dust and sand. The Arabian Gulf will experience rough sea conditions, while the Oman Sea will remain slight to moderate.
On Saturday, 25 May 2024, the weather will continue to be fair with occasional dust in the air and rising temperatures. Light to moderate northwesterly winds will freshen periodically, leading to blowing dust. The sea will be rough in the morning, transitioning to moderate to slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
Finally, on Sunday, 26 May 2024, the morning will be humid with a chance of fog or mist forming over some internal and coastal areas. The weather will be fair to partly cloudy at times, with a slight increase in temperatures. Light to moderate northwesterly to northeasterly winds will blow at speeds of 10 to 20 km/hr, reaching up to 30 km/hr. Sea conditions will be slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
With these weather conditions in mind, residents are advised to take precautions when planning outdoor activities or maritime ventures during the upcoming week. Stay tuned for further updates from the National Meteorology Centre as the week progresses.
