Former Indian cricket star unleashes another scathing attack on Virat Kohli

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former India batter Ambati Rayudu has once again taken a swipe at Virat Kohli, criticizing the RCB captain for setting impossibly high standards that are difficult for young players to match. Rayudu’s comments come after RCB’s disappointing performance in the 2024 IPL, where they failed to win the title despite Kohli’s stellar individual performance.

In a scathing attack on Kohli, Rayudu suggested that the RCB management needs to understand that not every player can be like Virat Kohli and that they should focus on nurturing young talent rather than expecting them to match Kohli’s standards. He emphasized the importance of allowing young players to make mistakes and learn from them, rather than putting undue pressure on them to perform like Kohli.

This is not the first time Rayudu has criticized RCB and Kohli. Earlier, he had questioned the team’s management for prioritizing individual milestones over team success and suggested that the franchise needed to focus on building a cohesive team rather than relying solely on Kohli.

Rayudu’s comments highlight the challenges faced by young players in living up to the high expectations set by established stars like Kohli. As the debate over player development and team dynamics continues, it remains to be seen how RCB and Kohli will respond to Rayudu’s criticisms and whether they will take steps to address the issues raised by the former India cricketer.
