Former White House spokesperson claims Trump is ‘definitely’ upset by Melania’s absence at trial

Former President Donald Trump is reportedly bothered by the absence of his wife, Melania Trump, at his ongoing criminal trial in New York. Despite other family members showing their support in person, Melania has chosen to stay away from the high-profile proceedings.

Stephanie Grisham, Trump’s former press secretary, revealed in an interview with CNN that the former president is indeed perturbed by the relentless questions from reporters about Melania’s whereabouts. Grisham stated that Trump would definitely bring up the issue with Melania if she missed a significant event.

Melania, who has largely stayed out of the public eye since the Trumps left office in 2020, has recently been seen accompanying her husband as he campaigns for the Republican nomination in 2024. However, she has notably been absent from Trump’s trial over alleged hush money payments to Stormy Daniels.

Despite daily inquiries from reporters about Melania’s absence, Trump has chosen to ignore the questions. Grisham emphasized that Trump did not appreciate Melania missing events during his presidency, and her absence from the trial is likely weighing on him.

While other family members, such as Ivanka Trump, have also been missing from the trial, Grisham suggested that Melania and Ivanka may be concerned about the optics of suddenly appearing at the trial. Speculation continues to swirl about whether Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, will make an appearance before the trial concludes.
