In a thrilling display of skill and determination, the New Smyrna Beach girls’ tennis team secured a 4-1 victory over Edgewater in the Region 3-3A semifinals. The match was held at New Smyrna Beach High School, where junior Lani Dirmeir stole the show with her incredible comeback.

After losing the first set in her No. 4 singles match against Delaney Agar, Dirmeir rallied back to win the second and third sets on tiebreakers. Her performance not only secured the victory for the Barracudas but also showcased her mental toughness and resilience on the court.

Fellow junior Ava Epps also delivered a stellar performance in the No. 1 singles match, clinching a third-set tiebreaker victory over Addison Taylor. The crowd gathered behind her court to witness the intense showdown, and Epps did not disappoint, sealing the win with a final shot that sailed out of bounds.

With wins from freshman Jenna Belitz and junior Madison Sheppard in the No. 3 and No. 5 singles matches, respectively, the Barracudas dominated the competition. Under the guidance of coach Summer Harris, the team displayed exceptional serves, baseline shots, and unwavering focus throughout the match.

The Barracudas’ impressive performance in the semifinals sets them up for a showdown in the regional finals against Sebring. With a record of 10-2, the team is poised to continue their winning streak and make a strong push for the championship title.
