France TV Distrib acquires rights to produce Mansour Bahrami biopic starring Amir Jadidi

France tv distribution has acquired the world sales rights for Romuald Boulanger’s upcoming bio-pic “Mansour,” which tells the captivating story of celebrity tennis player Mansour Bahrami. The film will follow Bahrami’s journey from post-Revolutionary Iran to exile and poverty in France, and ultimately to fame on the international tennis circuit.

Amir Jadidi, known for his lead role in Asghar Farhadi’s award-winning film “A Hero,” will portray Bahrami in the film. Directed and produced by Romuald Boulanger, the movie is a collaboration between R-Lines Productions and Unconditional Pictures.

Bahrami, a popular figure in the international tennis community, has a remarkable life story. Born in Iran in the 1950s, he taught himself to play tennis using a frying pan as a racket and a disused swimming pool as his court. After fleeing to France following the Iranian Revolution, Bahrami found himself homeless and penniless, sleeping in the locker room of Roland Garros.

Despite the challenges he faced, Bahrami never lost hope and continued to pursue his dream of playing at Roland Garros. Through determination and quick wit, he navigated life as an illegal immigrant and formed lasting bonds with tennis icons who recognized his talent.

Bahrami expressed his pride in having his story adapted for the screen, praising the team behind the film. Director Romuald Boulanger described Bahrami as a true hero, whose resilience and passion have inspired countless individuals.

The France tv distribution team will launch the project at Cannes, with VP International Cinema Sales Alexandre René and SVP International Sales Julia Schulte expressing their admiration for Bahrami’s strength and determination. The film promises to be a moving portrayal of a man who never gave up on his dreams.
