Reading Time: < 1 minute

In a thrilling match at the French Open, fourth seed Elena Rybakina overcame a slow start to defeat Arantxa Rus and advance to the third round. Despite an early double fault, Rybakina managed to hold her serve and eventually took control of the match with a series of powerful aces. The Kazakh player expressed her focus on covering the court against the left-handed Rus and acknowledged the challenges posed by her experienced opponent.

As the match progressed, both players fought hard to gain the upper hand, with Rus briefly taking the lead in the second set before Rybakina fought back to level the score. With determination and a strong mindset, Rybakina managed to break Rus once again and secure the victory in straight sets. Reflecting on her performance, Rybakina admitted to facing some ups and downs during the match but ultimately pushed herself to come out on top.

In another exciting match, second seed Aryna Sabalenka cruised to victory against Japanese qualifier Moyuka Uchijima. Sabalenka’s powerful serve and groundstrokes proved too much for Uchijima to handle, as the Belarusian dominated the match from the start. Despite a brief resurgence from Uchijima in the second set, Sabalenka remained focused and sealed the win with a combination of fierce winners and well-placed drop shots.

Both Rybakina and Sabalenka will now look ahead to their upcoming matches in the third round, as they aim to continue their impressive run at the French Open.
