Jamestown’s Ayden Samuelson stole the show at the Golden Falcon Track & Field Invitational, sprinting to first place in the 100-meter dash with an impressive time. But he wasn’t the only standout athlete at the event.

Southwestern’s Faith Hamilton and Emma Lewis dominated the girls’ events, with Hamilton winning the shot put and discus, and Lewis taking first in the 1,500 meters and 800 meters. On the boys’ side, Randolph’s Talon Rowland stood out as the Outstanding Track Athlete, setting a meet record in the 200-meter dash.

Other notable performances included Maple Grove’s Jonah Foley winning the triple jump and high jump, Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Nathan Bailey hitting the state standard in the pole vault, Dunkirk’s Johnee Thomas reaching the state standard in the 400 meters, and Frewsburg’s Cody Kent breaking the meet record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

The team titles were also fiercely contested, with Jamestown taking the boys’ large-school title and Southwestern claiming the girls’ large-school title. Randolph and Portville emerged victorious in the small-school categories.

Overall, the Golden Falcon Track & Field Invitational showcased the incredible talent and dedication of high school athletes in the area, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
