Garylee participates in sports with the SCA softball team

The Southern Ozarks Conference (SCA) recently announced its all-conference softball teams, with several standout players earning top honors. Among those named to the first team were SR Emma Spence from Willow Springs as pitcher, Soph Hunter Strunk from Ava as pitcher, SR Kelsey Pritchett from Houston as pitcher, Soph Makenna Coonts from Ava as catcher, SR Madelyn Fair from Willow Springs as infield, SR Lilli Honeycutt from Ava as infield, JR Makenley Aaron from Houston as infield, JR Landry Golden from Mountain Grove as infield, JR Aleisha Shanks from Willow Springs as outfield, JR Hannah Forrest from Ava as outfield, JR Lacey Cavaness from Houston as outfield, SR Taylor Hicks from Mountain Grove as outfield, and Soph Khila Smith from Willow Springs as utility player. Madelyn Fair from Willow Springs and Makinley Aaron from Houston were named SCA players of the year, while Jimmy Moore from Houston and Ryan Bunch from Willow Springs were named coaches of the year.

In other sports news, the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) announced that the 11-man state football championship games will be moving from Columbia to St. Joseph after the 2024 season. Additionally, the Licking Wildcats fell short in their bid to become back-to-back Class 3 state baseball champions, losing to Duchesne in the semifinals. They will now play for third place against West County.
