Garylee provides an update on Grizzly softball sports

The Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Softball team faced off against Mineral Area College in a doubleheader yesterday, but unfortunately, they were unable to secure a victory. The Lady Grizzlies lost both games, with scores of 7-1 and 2-0. Despite the setbacks, the team’s record stands at 25-9, and they are gearing up for their next games on Sunday at State Fair Community College.

In other sports news, the Kansas City Royals dominated the White Sox with a resounding 10-1 victory, while the St. Louis Cardinals thrilled their fans with an 8-5 win over the Marlins in their home opener at Busch Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Nashville Predators triumphed over the St. Louis Blues with a 6-3 win at Bridgestone Arena, showcasing their prowess on the ice.

Looking ahead, the Willow Springs YMCA and G&W Foods will be hosting their annual 2-Person Scramble golf tournament on Saturday, April 20th at the Willow Springs Municipal Golf Course. The tournament, which benefits YMCA programs and scholarship funds, will feature a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. Participants will have the chance to win prizes, including cash rewards, and can register their teams at the Willow Springs YMCA.
