Garylee secures scholarship for sports at Thayer SR

Thayer Lady Bobcat Senior, Danyca Donahue, has recently committed to play volleyball at East Central College, marking a significant milestone in her athletic career. Donahue played a pivotal role in leading the Lady Bobcats to their first-ever 22-win season in school history. Her exceptional performance on the court earned her All-District honors in both her Junior and Senior years, as well as being named an All-SCA Conference selection for three consecutive years.

East Central College, located in Union, MO, is a member of the NJCAA in the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference. Donahue’s commitment to play volleyball at the collegiate level is a testament to her hard work and dedication to the sport.

In other sports news, the STL Cardinals recently wrapped up a three-game series against the Padres. Fans can catch all the Cardinal games on KUKU 100.3 and News Talk Radio KWPM. Additionally, the Orioles secured a 4-3 victory over the Royals at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, with two runs scored in both the eighth and ninth innings.

On the basketball front, the University of Missouri men’s basketball team welcomed Rob Summers as an assistant coach. Summers, a 7-foot graduate of West Virginia, will be working directly with the Tigers’ post players. This addition to the coaching staff is expected to bring valuable expertise and experience to the program.

Lastly, the TCMH Health Care Foundation will be hosting its 18th annual 2-person 18-hole golf scramble at the Houston Municipal Golf Course on Saturday, June 8th. The event promises a day of fun and friendly competition, with a fee of $120 per team including cart, greens fees, and lunch.
