Gegard Mousasi Considers Legal Action Against PFL, Calls It the Worst Organization He’s Fought In

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Gegard Mousasi, the former Bellator middleweight champion, is not pleased with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and is considering legal action against the organization. Since PFL acquired Bellator MMA at the end of 2023, Mousasi has been frustrated with the lack of fights and communication from the promotion.

In a recent interview on The MMA Hour, Mousasi expressed his disappointment, stating, “They don’t even want to pick up the phone and talk to us. It’s not even funny anymore. It’s the worst organization so far. I’ve fought in a lot of organizations, this is the worst one.”

Mousasi has not competed since May 2023 and claims that PFL officials were not aware of his new contract with Bellator when they acquired the company. He believes that PFL may not have the financial means to pay fighters like him, who have higher contracts.

Despite being closer to the end of his career at 38 years old, Mousasi is prepared to fight legal battles if necessary to ensure he gets the fights he is owed. He has consulted with legal counsel and managers to explore his options.

While Mousasi hopes to avoid a lawsuit, he is determined to receive at least one fight from PFL before considering his next steps. The situation between Mousasi and PFL continues to escalate, with the fighter feeling disrespected and undervalued by the organization.
