German sports technology company chooses Arlington as location for U.S. headquarters in anticipation of World Cup

Sportec Solutions, a Munich-based sports technology company, is set to open its U.S. headquarters in Arlington by the end of December. The company, which has been specializing in soccer data since 1988, recently partnered with Major League Soccer to provide live analytics and match data during games.

The new headquarters, located on 1701 East Lamar Blvd., is expected to create 17 jobs with an annual average salary of $55,000. This move marks a significant win for Arlington, which was awarded nine 2026 World Cup matches and was named the sixth best sports business city by the Sports Business Journal.

Marty Wieder, the executive director for Arlington Economic Development Corporation, expressed excitement about Sportec’s decision to choose Arlington as its new home. The company’s headquarters will be just minutes away from the Arlington Entertainment District, which is home to the Texas Live! entertainment complex and Loews Hotel.

Sportec’s Arlington headquarters will be equipped with state-of-the-art amenities to handle live match data, video refereeing, and tools for live commentary. Christian Holzer, managing director at Sportec, believes the company will play a crucial role in the growth of soccer in North Texas.

The Arlington Economic Development Corp. worked diligently to attract Sportec to the city, offering a $1 million performance grant to incentivize the move. The company will be expected to maintain and create at least 10 full-time jobs through 2029.

With its strategic location and supportive infrastructure, Arlington is poised to become a hub for sports technology, and Sportec’s presence will undoubtedly contribute to the city’s growth in the coming years.
