Get Active and Have Fun at the Glendale Family Bike Ride This Spring

The 27th Annual Glendale Family Bike Ride is set to take place on Sunday, April 14 at Historic Sahuaro Ranch Park from 7 a.m. to noon. This exciting event is open to bicyclists of all ages and skill levels, offering three different routes to choose from: Short (seven miles), Long (15 miles), and Extended (23 miles). Participants can enjoy scenic bike pathways, trails, parks, and bridges as they pedal through the park located at 9802 N. 59th Ave.

In addition to the bike ride, there will be plenty of activities for families and friends to enjoy, including snacks and water stations at various points along the route. The Glendale Police Department and SWAT team will be on hand to provide demonstrations, while Valley Metro will showcase their modern buses. Health and wellness vendors, carnival games, inflatables, and a DJ spinning upbeat tunes will also be part of the festivities.

Mayor Jerry Weiers will kick off the start of each group ride, and the first 500 registered participants will receive a free T-shirt. All participants who complete a route will receive a participation medal and have the chance to win a bike raffle. Free helmets and fittings, as well as valuable bicycle safety information, will also be available.
