Reading Time: < 1 minute

Apple is gearing up to make major announcements regarding its AI strategy at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), set to be one of the biggest in a decade. With big names like OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google already making waves in the AI space, it’s time for Apple to showcase its progress and innovations in generative artificial intelligence.

One of the key highlights of the upcoming iOS 18 update is the introduction of AI-powered features across various applications. For instance, the Voice Memos app will now have a transcription feature that automatically converts audio to text, making it a valuable tool for students and journalists. Additionally, Siri is expected to undergo a significant upgrade with the integration of generative AI technology, allowing for more natural interactions and enhanced functionality.

Another exciting feature rumored to be included in iOS 18 is the introduction of custom emojis generated through AI. This innovative feature will enable users to create emojis based on their text conversations, expanding the range of expressive options available on the iPhone.

Furthermore, Apple is set to bring AI enhancements to its core applications such as Safari, Photos, and Notes. These improvements will include features like audio transcription, AI-powered summaries, and smart recaps of notifications, messages, and web pages.

However, not all iPhones may support the upcoming AI features, with newer devices likely to benefit the most from on-device AI capabilities. Older devices may still receive some AI features through cloud-based solutions.

Apple’s WWDC, scheduled for June 10 to 14, is expected to shed more light on the company’s AI roadmap and showcase the potential opportunities AI can bring to its products. Stay tuned for more updates on Apple’s AI advancements at the WWDC event.
