Frontier High/Middle School senior Morgan Haught has found her passion for teaching through valuable job experiences both inside and outside the classroom. Haught volunteered in a local elementary school teacher’s classroom, where she gained insight into the dynamics of classroom life and the importance of handling children in different situations.
Her dedication and hard work were recognized by the school principal and teacher, who presented her with a special gift signed by students. Haught’s love for working with children extends beyond the classroom, as she also babysits for various families. One child in particular, Weston Hendershot, who has Down syndrome, has inspired her to pursue a career in special education.
Haught’s career path took a turn when she visited West Virginia University at Parkersburg and discovered her passion for special education and math. She will be studying early education with specializations in K-12 special education and fourth grade to Algebra 1. Through College Credit Plus, she has already earned 55 college credits, setting her on a successful path towards her career goals.
With the support of her family and the encouragement of her older sisters, Haught is determined to continue pursuing her passion for teaching and making a difference in the lives of children. Her journey from volunteering in a classroom to pursuing a career in special education is a testament to her dedication and commitment to helping others.
