Girls finish in third place and boys finish in fifth place at Viesselman competition

The Blue Earth Area track teams showcased their talent and determination at the Viesselman True Team Style Meet in Wells on April 9. Competing against five other teams, the BEA Buccaneers gave it their all in various events, both on the track and in the field.

In the girls’ division, LCWM-N took the top spot with 295.5 points, followed by NRHEG in second with 275 points. BEA secured a respectable third place with 216 points, showcasing their strength and skill. Addison Armstrong was a standout performer, clinching first place in the 400-meter dash and second place in the 200-meter dash.

The relay races also saw BEA shine, with the team securing second place in the 4×800-meter relay and the 4×200-meter relay. Chloe Groe impressed in the field events, finishing third in the shot put and second in the discus.

On the boys’ side, Maple River dominated with 313.5 points, while BEA secured fifth place with 167 points. Jacob Grandgenett was a standout performer, winning the 400-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. The team also secured first place in the 4×200-meter relay.

Overall, the BEA track teams put on a strong performance, showcasing their talent and determination on the track. With impressive individual performances and strong team efforts, the Buccaneers proved that they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of high school track and field.
