Girls Golf Rocks is back with a new ‘Rookies’ programme

England Golf is teeing up for an exciting year ahead with the return of their popular Girls Golf Rocks programme and the introduction of the new Get into Golf Rookies initiative for 2024.

Girls Golf Rocks, the largest participation programme for girls aged 5-18, aims to introduce beginners to the game in a fun and friendly environment. Meanwhile, Get into Golf Rookies is designed to provide more opportunities for children and young people to learn and play golf in mixed sessions.

With over 240 clubs across 37 counties participating in these programmes, aspiring golfers have a wide range of venues to choose from. Free taster sessions are being offered by some clubs to give participants a taste of the game before committing to the activity blocks, which include six hours of instruction with the final hour spent on the golf course.

Both programmes offer flexibility in scheduling, with activities running from April to October. Participants can expect to pay £40 for the activity blocks and will receive a goody bag filled with branded merchandise.

Lauren Spray, Women & Girls Manager at England Golf, expressed her excitement for the upcoming programmes, highlighting the positive impact golf can have on individuals. She emphasized the importance of creating a positive first experience for young golfers to foster a lifelong love for the sport.

All participating golf clubs and facilities have achieved the England Golf SafeGolf accreditation, ensuring a safe and secure environment for new recruits to enjoy themselves.
