Glacier tennis defeats Butte and faces tough competition from Big Sky

Glacier High School’s tennis team dominated in a pair of matches against Missoula Big Sky and Butte on Friday, with Will Rudbach and Sam Engellant leading the charge. The dynamic duo dropped just one game in their victories, contributing to a Wolfpack sweep of the Bulldogs and a 6-2 win over the Eagles.

The Glacier girls also had a strong showing, sweeping Butte and playing to a 4-4 draw with Big Sky. Haven Speer and Sarah Downs secured a decisive 6-0, 6-0 win against Butte’s Alissa Pennock and Jordan Yelenich, while the girls doubles pairings did not drop a single game in any of their matches against the Bulldogs.

Claire Ennis stood out for the Glacier girls, nabbing the only singles win of the day against Big Sky. On the boys’ side, Kutuk White and Ethan Dykstra picked up singles wins against the Eagles, while the doubles teams remained undefeated throughout the matches.

In a dominant display, the Wolfpack won all 30 sets played against the Bulldogs, with the No. 4 boys match finishing as a forfeit to Glacier. The team’s impressive performance showcased their strength and skill on the court, setting a high standard for future matches.
