Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Gladstone Braves baseball team kicked off their quest for another District championship in spectacular fashion on Tuesday, defeating Menominee 16-2 in a dominant performance at Don Olsen Field.

The game didn’t start as smoothly as the Braves would have liked, with Menominee taking an early 1-0 lead with a home run in the first inning. However, Gladstone quickly turned the tables, with the first seven batters reaching base and producing a flurry of runs to take a commanding 9-1 lead after just two innings.

Led by standout performances from Gavin Frossard, Rex Kelly, and Nate Young, the Braves continued to pile on the runs, extending their lead to 16-2 by the end of the game. Pitcher Isaac Ketchum delivered a solid performance on the mound, allowing just one more run in the second inning and earning the win for Gladstone.

Kelly finished the game 2-for-2 with three RBI, while Frossard went 2-for-3 with four runs scored and two RBI. The Braves now look ahead to their next challenge, facing Superior Central in the district semifinals on Friday.

With their explosive offense and strong pitching, the Braves are poised to make a deep run in the District tournament and continue their pursuit of another championship title. Stay tuned for more updates on Gladstone’s baseball journey as they aim for success on the diamond.
