The Gladstone Braves faced off against tough competition in the 2024 Kingsley Tournament over the weekend, with mixed results. In their first game against Gaylord, errors proved costly as they fell 7-4. Despite taking an early lead, a series of walks and defensive miscues allowed Gaylord to come back and secure the win.

However, the Braves bounced back in their second game against Manistee, coming out on top with an 8-6 victory. After falling behind early, Gladstone rallied with a grand slam from Isaac Ketchum, their first home run of the season. The team continued to chip away at the lead, eventually reclaiming it in the fourth inning and holding on for the win.

Pitchers Trevor Thorbahn and Cooper Sanville had their ups and downs on the mound, with Thorbahn taking the loss in the first game and Sanville earning the win in the second. Ketchum was a standout performer, finishing 2-for-5 with a grand slam, five RBI, and a run scored.

The Braves will look to carry this momentum into their upcoming games, facing Bark River-Harris on Monday and hosting a doubleheader against Escanaba on Tuesday. With the postseason looming, Gladstone is focused on fine-tuning their game and making a strong push towards success. Stay tuned for more updates on their journey through the baseball season.
