Glenn Maxwell suffers another duck as Royal Challengers Bangalore fall to Rajasthan Royals: Watch the video highlights

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Glenn Maxwell’s struggles continued in the Indian Premier League as he claimed an unwanted piece of history during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s loss to Rajasthan Royals. Maxwell, who has been under scrutiny for his poor form, equaled Dinesh Karthik’s record for the most ducks in the IPL with 18.

The Australian all-rounder managed just 27 runs off 20 balls before being dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin, who also got the wicket of Cameron Green on the very next ball. Kevin Pietersen, in the commentary box, questioned Maxwell’s shot selection, calling it “not good enough” for such a crucial game.

Despite Rajasthan stuttering in their chase after losing key wickets, Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer steadied the ship with a crucial partnership. Rovman Powell then finished the job with a six to guide Rajasthan to victory.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s dream run came to an end after a remarkable turnaround in the tournament. They went from the bottom of the table to winning six consecutive matches to make it to the playoffs.

With this win, Rajasthan will now face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last playoff to determine Kolkata Knight Riders’ opponent in the final. Kolkata had secured their spot in the final after defeating Hyderabad in the first playoff.

The IPL playoffs continue to provide thrilling encounters as the teams battle it out for the coveted title, with Maxwell’s struggles adding an extra layer of drama to the competition.
