Golf Holidays Direct Supports Golf Foundation’s Unleash Your Drive in Schools Initiative

Golf Holidays Direct has announced an extended partnership with the Golf Foundation to support the Unleash Your Drive in Schools initiative. The golf travel specialists recently held a fundraising event during their visit to the Masters, raising an impressive £5,700 for the Golf Foundation.

The Unleash Your Drive in Schools initiative, launched last September, is led by Golf Foundation President Nick Dougherty. The program aims to promote mental wellbeing in primary schools through a specially designed mental toughness golf program. This six-week program, which can be delivered by teachers using digital resources and Golfway equipment, focuses on teaching fun and inclusive games with mental toughness tools embedded throughout.

Early studies have shown a 19% increase in mental wellbeing among participants, with improvements in concentration, confidence, emotional control, and determination. Over 700 schools have expressed interest in the initiative, and the Golf Foundation is working to provide the program as a fully funded offer to those in need.

Lewis Remington, Managing Director of Golf Holidays Direct, expressed his delight in supporting the initiative, stating, “We want to help the Foundation not only grow the game of golf but also provide access to the game for thousands of young people across the UK.”

Brendon Pyle, CEO of the Golf Foundation, expressed gratitude for the support from Golf Holidays Direct, emphasizing the impact of their fundraising efforts. To support the initiative and have a chance to win a place in the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am at Wentworth, golfers can play in May and register their score along with a donation to the Golf Foundation.
