Good Samaritan Sells Business in Washington County

The Washington County Board has made a significant decision to sell Samaritan to EOM Healthcare Group, a move that could have a major impact on the community. EOM Healthcare Group, which owns several nursing and rehab facilities across the state and country, submitted a letter of intent to purchase Samaritan on March 26.

County Executive Josh Schoemann expressed confidence in the offer from EOM Healthcare Group, stating that they are a qualified buyer with a worthy offer. The county has been conducting background research on the group and touring their facilities to ensure they meet the necessary criteria.

During the tours, Samaritan Campus Administrator Matt Furno and Supervisor Tony Thoma were impressed by the cleanliness and care provided at EOM Healthcare Group’s facilities. They noted that residents were happy, staff were well taken care of, and the facilities were well-organized.

EOM Healthcare Group’s main owner, Jacob Jeidel, assured the county that they would prioritize resident care, staff well-being, and maintaining the skilled nursing licenses in West Bend. Jeidel emphasized the company’s focus on employee satisfaction, with a commitment to competitive wages and benefits.

The board ultimately voted in favor of the transaction with EOM Healthcare Group, pending successful negotiations between Schoemann and the group. The sale process could begin as early as July 1, with updates to be provided to the board monthly.

Schoemann expressed optimism about the alignment of values between Washington County and EOM Healthcare Group, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the best possible care for Samaritan’s residents. This decision marks a new chapter for Samaritan and the community it serves.
