GPAC Honors Eight Jimmies Baseball Players – Jamestown Sun

Eight University of Jamestown baseball players have been recognized for their outstanding performances in the GPAC All-Conference awards this year. Alex Alva, Avery Liestman, and Ethan Petty secured spots on the All-Conference first team, while Chase Burke, Cade Torgerson, and Jordan Singleton made it to the All-Conference second team. Torgerson also received the prestigious All-Conference gold glove award.

The Jimmies also had four players receive honorable mentions: Ryan Radkey, Hayden Brown, Luke Zimmer, and Jett Nelson. Alva showcased his skills with a .330 batting average, five home runs, and 37 RBIs, along with 12 stolen bases. Liestman, in his first season, impressed with a 7-1 record and a 2.38 ERA. Petty made 23 appearances on the mound, recording a 1-1 record with a 0.42 ERA and 36 strikeouts.

Torgerson, another standout pitcher, went 7-3 with a 2.91 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 74.1 innings. Burke, Singleton, and Nelson also contributed significantly to the team’s success with their impressive batting averages and RBIs. Radkey, Zimmer, and Brown showcased their pitching and hitting abilities, further solidifying the Jimmies’ strong presence in the conference.

Overall, the University of Jamestown baseball team had a remarkable season, with multiple players earning well-deserved recognition for their exceptional performances on the field.
