Greenkeepers are on track for the Open Championship following upgrades to the course.

Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland is gearing up for this summer’s 152nd Open with a major upgrade to their greenkeepers’ compound and locker rooms. The 145-year-old club has invested in a new welfare block that includes state-of-the-art facilities such as offices, a staff room, a kitchen, wet and dry changing rooms, showers, and toilets.

The new changing rooms feature 28 modern lockers and benches to accommodate the dedicated team responsible for maintaining the club’s pristine courses. This investment is aimed at supporting the 20 greenkeeping staff as they prepare to host the Championship in July.

Locit, the manufacturer of the Pure Lockers brand, partnered with distributor Nationwide Lockers to deliver slate grey steel lockers to the specifications of contractor Fleming Build. Club Secretary Stephen Anthony expressed the club’s delight with the new facilities, emphasizing the importance of providing a secure space for the team’s belongings.

John Burns, Project lead and Site Manager for Fleming Build, highlighted the club’s commitment to providing top-notch facilities for its employees. Pure Lockers, the world’s first carbon-neutral steel lockers, were chosen for their sustainability and quality.
